Hey all been awhile since i been on was havin problems with my account jim was kind enough to sort them for me..(thanks again jim!!)

But i was hoping some one on here had a pic of the proper routing of vaccum lines for a 89 b2 with a 2.9 im havin issues with high idle and a bad studder

If any one could help id appreciate it greatly...

Not trying to derail or piggyback but I was gonna post this same thing for a 2.5... I'm having trouble figuring out/remembering where all
The vacuum hoses go.. I labeled most everything I unhooked but I got carried away and figured those would be self explanatory... now I'm confused..

I checked the on-line manual and found one for the 2.5 and others but nothing specific for the 89 BII.

There was a general one for most models but it showed the vacuum lines going to the control unit inside the cab for the heater/blower and I'm pretty sure they didn't use that until 1993 or ltater.

If you want one for the 2.5 there is one under the engine information for most models after 1994...

can't help with the routing, however check the power booster to make sure you don't have a problem there with the vacuum.

I have an 89 B-II with a 2.9L. I can take some pics. I can't guarantee they are routed properly though. :dunno: I just got it and some of the wiring has been missing or improper, so take it with a grain of salt. It does run well, though. Are there any particular vacuum lines you're interested in seeing? Cause they're everywhere. lol

When I say "left" or "right" I'm talking like you're looking at the motor standing in front of the truck.

Overall shot.

On the right, is the large vacuum ports coming off the back of the intake. They go to the brake booster and the cruise control, if a equipped. One of the large vacuum lines entered the firewall.

There's a smaller line that runs from the manifold to whay I assume is the fuel pressure regulator.

On the left side, we have three ports on the bottom of the front of the intake. You can see two lines and a brass nipple in the picture below. The port without a line (The middle of the 3) is supposed to run over to the charcoal canister but is missing on my engine.

One of the others runs to what I think is the IAC. The other runs to the valve cover, so probably the PIC valve.

On the side of the intake, near the front, is another set of smaller lines. One runs over to the air cleaner and then runs down under the battery where it looks like it enters the plastic intake near the beginning. I'm not sure what these lines are for.

The other line runs to a tee where one side goes to the firewall and the other goes over in front of the had blower where it disappears into a wire loom.

Hope that helps. If you need a specific picture of something, just ask.

Thanks guys ill do some lookin under the hood with these pics and ill post up some of my own and see if someone on here can spot the problem
