went out wheelin, had a great time, decided to hit the puddle one more time...

who leaves this in a mud hole?... 1500 miles on that tire... pissed off :bawling:

atleast i had a spare...

its on the sidewall so non repairable.

Very unfortunate fate for the tire. Id be pissed myself if all I got was 1500 miles out of a 200+ dollar tire.

You would be surprised what you can unearth even in places you think no one has been in years. I find stuff all the time that my tires dig up through trails.

That sucks so much, man! What is that? A metal spike thing?

that would be a green post that they slam into the ground to hold fencing together. i also found a tent spike, parts of a garden chair, a steel pipe, a 6 inch nail, i ussualy try and go around this section of the trail, as there is a lot of 2x4's yound kids have used to get unstuck, but apparently thats not all they used to get unstuck.

A steel fence post.

And that is why I don't do much mudding anymore. :icon_thumby:

You could have found the fence and rapped that around your drive shaft.

yeah its getting to a point where every time i go out i find stuff in the mud, its always worried me but i never had a problem before. its a shame that young guys dont pack out what they pack in.

If that is your daily driver I would eat the cost of a new tire. You dont want that big of a tire to let go from a flaw in the vulcanizing process while at highway speeds. If it is a dedicated trail rig I would take a chance... but that is a pretty big gash...

its about an inch gash, those threads say they have sealed 3x-5x the size without problems, the truck is only driven as a backup rig if mandatory, which never happens, (have 2 others cars, for 2 people) other than that its driven to the trail and thats it. thats why those tires only obtained 1500 miles in about 9 months.

i am going to be ordering a new tires of this size, but the sidewall on my current spare has a crack all the way around it, and dont wanna just throw away a possibly usable tire.

maybe ill make some mud flaps out of it...

Yeah, a hole that size is hard to fix even if it's in the treads.

I have never heard of this vulcanizing repair, but it sure seems like it should work. I can pick out on the outside of his tire where that patch is, so it must do something.

Keep us tuned in...I'd like to know your results.

Man!! I was looking for that thing. I was up there about 10 years ago planting some potatoes and must have left it there. Seeee...that will teach you... Never jump into water until you are sure there are no rocks or hidden tree stumps that will bang your head......lol

It could have been laying there for decades waiting for some lucky guy to find it.

I found a Model T rim with a tractor mounted subsoiler once :yahoo:

this section of trail right here is where all the kids go to get drunk and have a fire, theres broken glass and shotgun shells every where next to the fire pit, plus ive found people stuck in the same hole i found that in.

on a side note, i have found a lot of really old ford trucks back in the woods here.
