Finally! I have the perfect engine for my Ranger build. Originally I was going to build a street dominating low slung terrorizer. But, I ended up selling that chassis because it was sitting for too long and taking up space. Yeah, I know it was a dumb move. However, I have a lifted Ranger in need of an engine and a new life. So instead of building that truck with a 390FE and only using it for off road abuse I plan to make it a nice dual purpose driver with this small block. This is a 351W roller out of our 96 F250. It was a good running engine when pulled with over 270,000 miles on the clock. I am not sure how far I am going to take the mods but I do plan a total tear down soon I hope. I plan to post a lot of questions in the near future.

What? No man I was pointing out that for 270,000 miles this engine was taken care there for it is a nice one to biuld. You know that brings up something I remember from a while back. I got into a pissing match with a S10 owner some years back and he said us Ranger biulders are for too sensitive. If I remember the rest of the night correctly he ended up going home with a broken nose. Of course I was a lot younger then to.
 
There are stil a couple of drive train parts I need but for the most part I am ready to go.
 
I think the only problem people have with the 351 swap is getting some good headers to work. Good luck, that is a clean motor!

Headers is already a concern I am dealing with. I want a set of long tubes so I know I am going to have issues.
 
I'm in the same boat as you with headers, but the motor looks clean, I wonder how the bottom end looks, are you going to take pictures when you tear it down, I might have a trans available not sure of your location or what you want though
 
Nice to see someone going 351W.
If i had it to do over thats what I would go with.
Projectnitemare maybe able to help you with the headers.
 
I do plan to start a biuld thread. Right now I am trying to get my bike back on the road. When that is done I will pull the pan and see what it looks like.

Is he running long tubes?
