if i were to get rid of my 2'' blocks in the rear of my 02 4x4 edge and replace t hem with 4'' blocks would i need longer shocks or brake lines?

Four inches of blocks can give some nasty axle wrap and ruin your ride quality.

ok well what if i just step it up to a 3'' inch block. only + 1 inch from where im at. i just want a little more clearince for bigger tires.

What size tires are you looking to use? If you plan on lifting the rear, what are your plans for lifting the front? Will a simple torsion bar crank help you achive what your wanting to do?

Sorry to answer a question with a question but the more info. given to us, the better we can help you.

im planning on running 33x12.5x15 on 15x10 rims. i currently have 16'' rims and i dont car about ride quality really. and yea i was just planning on crankgin the t-bars to level it out if i put bigger blocks in the rear. really dont wanna mess with shackles or anything i can get 3 or 4'' blocks from a buddy with all the installing hardware.

I would go the shackle way, its still a cheap way to get lift and a much better way, at least for the rear, the front is another beast to deal with due to being IFS.

id do a shackle lift but ive alreaddy got 3 and 4'' blocks and im just gonna jack up the torsion bars a little to level it out. i know that it harder on your front end but ill take the chance.
