I purchased a Warn manual hub conversion a while back and installed them. No Problems. But today I had to take them loose to clean and pack the bearings. I reinstalled the inner spindle nut and put the locking washer back on. When i went to torque the outter nut it just kept wanting to spin the inner nut. the locking washer is not catching in the groove of the spindle and holding it so I can torque it. it is stripping the threads off my spindle because the locking washer doesn't sit deep enough in the groove. Bad specs. on Warns side is what it looks like to me. " Anyone else had this problem or know of a tool to hold the inner spindle nut while you torque it."

I dont know how much this will help with your current problem but make sure that you clean the nuts and washer off real good so that you don't have grease between them.

I've seen where some used a welder to add a bit of length to that tab and then reshaped it so it would sit deeper in the spindle groove.

Also you may be able to just bend the washer in a vise slightly so it's very slightly oval shaped.

Mine did that new outta the box. I welded and ground the tabs until they just fit into the spindle groove and never had an issue with them after that.

yeh on the inner locknut, you made sure the dimple is facing outwards so the holes in the washer will slide into the dimple on the locknut. it if does not fit, you can torque the innerlock nut just a hair so they line up.

I have never had a problem on my Warn conversion kit. I also just regreased my front bearings this last weekend so I had to take the hubs apart.

I was wondering if anyone had welded and grinded any before because that was the idea i had. I got them torqued this time but when they come back off thats what i am gonna do. Thanks
