locker question ????

if i get a lock right / no slip for my rig will i have to get a new locker when i cange my gearing to 456s? right now i have 373s.
 
I believe the only difference would be if you went from 28 spline to 31 spline. I ran my lockright with my 3.55's and my 4.56's
 
as long as you're just changing the gears, yes the locker will still work.

the locker is only dependant upon the axle type (aka, ring gear size, so 7.5" or 8.8"--which dosent change when you change ratios), axle shaft spline count (28 rangers or 31 in explorers), and the cross pin diameter.
 
ya i can see that the splines are a different count, but no its going in to a 8.8 31 spline rear end . i ask this because i was just looking at the detroit ez locker and it said for 355 gearing and up, so i just wanted to now thanks. PS i just got the vms d35 skid plate and that thing is bad , i dont think there is a way to brake that thing. thanks mike.

I havn't been able to hurt mine yet either. Skookum unit. :icon_cheers:
 

A few guys that I wheel with have blown up the quick locks on the first trip out on them.....Aussi and Powertrax seem to have it down pat tho.
