if the compressor is locked up just remove the clutch disk, its independent of the pulley/bearing assembly.
if the pulley/bearing is whats locked, time for removal or replacement. don't have to remove the compressor to replace the pulley, its held on the front extension by a big clip.

I want it out of my way ,no need for it . I'll use a belt for one without air . Thanks
 
You could unplug the wire harness and leave it in place if the pulley hasn't seized.
