I locked my keys in my truck earlier and I don't have a spare. I was just wondering if there are any tricks to unlocking a door before I have to pay for someone to do it. Thanks

Sorry not gonna find that info here....

im surprised you havent heard that your model of ranger is one of the easiest to break into... guess you didn't see it on the news, someone did a story on it a while ago..

Too bad, so sad you could be a crook for all we know, Bro. Call a lock smith...why no spare? Every vehicle comes with two sets of keys!!! I keep a spare in my wallet for this purpose. It happened to me many many years ago. It will never happen again. I have a spare that will not start the truck, just open the door. It cost me $5.00 at Ace Hardware. I left my truck running once and when I got out I locked it as I got out. Duh..... I was so glad I had that spare on me. Got right back in. and shut off the truck.

have you tried googling your problem? that's what i always do

I guess I missed it... ill just call AAA. Thanks for the help

remember harry potter and how it was he who can not be named? well the trick is something that cannot be spoken about. yet some idiot put it on youtube...and the news...

FOOL

I found the video and I tried it and its not as easy as it looks, at least on mine. Whose bright idea was to put it on the news!? Anyways, I hope I don't get negative repped now.

I tried it too, and couldn't get it. After I heard about it I was gung ho to make a fix for it, but never did (because it was such PITA).

EDIT: And if someone negative reps you for that, it's pretty lame. You were just looking for help.

"it" is as easy as it looks. I will say this, size certainly counts.

I have gotten into my 97 using a coat hanger in about 30 seconds...I do not leave anything valuable in my cars due to how easy they are to get into...(not just a ranger)

I keep a "break in kit" on my fullsize. I thought puting a key somewhere on the truck but then anyone could find it. The break in kit just looks like some trash in the back of the truck, then when i lock myself out (i do it quite frequently) i can get in under 30 seconds. The ranger though, takes about 4 seconds. I think i can get in it faster without the key.

I hate to say this but it is easy to get into a ranger , just insert a coat hanger with a hook on it through the outer widow seal and the glass , you can get to the lock rod and pull up , the lock will pop , i have done this twice
