I'm a 1st time poster and I asking this question for my Dad (we both have rangers, his is a 1997 & mine is a 1999).
My dads ranger is a 1997 extended cap V6, automatic with 4wd. Four years ago he pulled off the auto hubs and put manual ones one and hasn't had any problems until last week. He was pulling a large branch that had fallen across the driveway out of the way in 4WD but had neglected to lock his hubs. I think he stopped engaged the hubs and pulled the branch out of the way but when he tried to switch out of 4wd the lights wouldn't go out and they (hi & lo) are still on and I can only assume he is in 4wd (hi or lo? both lights are on). He has tried backing down the driveway (50 ft) and they won't go out, he has checked both fuses (under the dashboard & under the hood) and they are OK. Any suggestions?
Thanks
