I need help finding out where the dimmer relay is on my 88 ford ranger. if anyone knows could you please help me?

There is no such thing as a "dimmer relay".

Are you looking for the part that controls the brightness of the dash lighting, or the unit that controls the high/low beam function?

It's on the end of the stalk you pull to switch them. No relay, just a flip switch in the base that passes power one way or the other.

If you don't have one or the other the switch is bad.

The actual high beams are activated by a pull action of the signal switch...you should feel it click when you pull the signal switch towards you...and you click to low beams by doing the same...pull the signal switch again towards you...

If you don't see the blue light in the speedometer indicating high beams it may be something else like a wonky connector under the hood...if you get high beams on but no blue light on the dash then the light on the dash may be blown.

I guess it should be asked..."What are you experiencing with the lights"?

The high/Low beams and turn signals are all controlled by the same control. I had to replace mine because the turn signal portion cam broke. It's not hard to replace but you have to be careful prying it loose after you get the screws out. I also had to replace the wiper/washer control as it would sometimes hang up. I was able to purchase the parts at Advance Auto Parts which was cheaper than LMC Truck.
