I have a '99 4x4 XLT, supercab, with the style-side (flared) bed. How do I determine how much weight I can safely haul in the back? I'm looking to bring home a load of sand for a patio project, but I'm not sure how much my truck can handle.

i know i overloaded mine with about 1000lbs in the back, man was she squatting, it did it though only went about 15 miles with it

Find the GVWR figure on your door sticker and subtract your truck's curb weight (around 3750lbs) from it. Also, don't forget the weight of driver & passengers adds to the total as well.
