I have a v6 06 ranger. I'm going to use it as a small construction truck. Problem is, the poor thing seems to slam whenever I load it with things. I was wondering what I could do to the suspension so it could sit somewhat even when loaded. I need to add a rack that weighs a couple hundred pounds, tools and material.

Ok what you need to do is get a set of 3" add-a-leaves from a suspension company and maybe a set of 2" lift blocks. These will give you a total lift of around 5" total in the rear, but don't adjust anything in the front. When you load up the new springs will compress onto the lift blocks and should be just about level with the front. Let's see your newly changed up suspension once you get it built up. Good luck!

Any suspension company's you'd reccomend? Won't it look funky when not loaded?

I would just go with a set of load leveling air bags for a work truck.

Nice ride when unloaded, and add air when loaded and the truck sits level.

Check out Firestone ride-rite's

Don't go jacking up the back end to compensate for load with springs and blocks....not only will it look retarded, it's just not the right way to go about it.

cool, thanks for the info. any added info is greatly appreciated.

just get an add a leaf from ebay or something. it will raise up the back like 2" but will give it like an extra 500lb capacity i think

Go with this idea.

Dang I completely forgot about airbags! Yes omit my idea and do the airbags. It's was better. I guess that's why I'm not a suspension specialist.
