i have a stock 03 ranger edge with limited slip and was wondering if they made a conversion to make it posi ive heard of some sort of tube that goes between the two axle halves to link them and then remove the spider gears? any help on where to get one or if its even worth it would be appreciated.

limited slip is posi. Chevrolet uses the term "posi" for their limited slip. Ford uses the term "trac-lok" for limited slip.

yo uhave an open rear end then and want a limited slip, wat rear end do u have 7.5 or 8?

Look into a trac-lok unit. First you need to find out if you have a 7.5" axle or an 8.8" rear end. You might want to look into a powertrax no-slip unit. This can be installed in the driveway.

im not sure what rear i have its stock 03 4wd 3.0 ranger with 5 speed

The easiest way to find out is to look at the sticker behind the drivers side door. You will see an axle code. Look that up and then tell us what it is. Its going to be a 2 digit code. We can then tell you what size rear end you have, what gears it has, and whether or not its limited slip. (you might have worn out clutches) You can also give us the information on the axle's tag.

A 3rd easy way to find out is to take a look at the differential cover. If you have the 7.5" rear end, the top and bottom of the cover will be flat and the two sides will have curves in them, like these... ( ). An 8.8" axle will be more boxy with all four sides relativly flat with rounded corners.

I don't have a facebook account so it won't let me view the picture.

Its very muddy but it looks like the 7.5" rear end.
