I recently resurrected my 91 Ranger and just had to drive thru a fairly bad snow storm and i seriously miss how sure footed my Explorer with factory LS is, so i want to add one to my Ranger.

Its the stock 8.8, what are my options for just DD driving?

Well, you could get an LS carrier and clutch set for an 8.8.

Or go to a junk yard and grab an LS rear axle. That is probably the easier/cheaper route.

The Detroit TruTrac is a very nice unit. It will run you $400 plus setup time and $.
