Light weight flywheel for 2.3L???

Wondering if anyone has installed a light weight flywheel on a ranger with the 4 cyl. Found a company that sells one and has good reviews but its a bit ridiculous price wise for a flywheel and of course no one had a review posted for a ranger. So im sceptical on getting it from the company. Looking to just make a fun daily driver and may be turbo charging it later. Any info on if any of the 4 cyl mustang flywheels will work. I dont want to assume they do even though the engines are near identical. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

unless you have a built to the hilt 2.3 no need for the light flywheel or want I wouldnt think in a ranger/truck. Inertia is 2.3'S friend in a truck/ranger.

I'm actually curious about ADDING weights to the outside edge of my flywheel.

Starting from a stop is going to be sooooo much worse with a lighter flywheel.

A lighter flywheel will give you slightly better acceleration but a slower launch. A lighter flywheel is best in an environment where the engine stays at a mid to high rpm as in oval track racing. In the mini stocks we were required to run a stock flywheel so we would have the back side machined down and rebalanced. the lightest I saw was about 14 lbs that stayed in one piece. The heaver flywheels are used in drag racing for a better launch.
