I have a plan for a switch for my off road lights (4 on roll bar 2 on bumper) but I'm not sure if it will work. So I was thinking of adding a stock switch to turn them on and off (duh). Ok so the swiches go like this \|/. \ is off, | is amber, / is lights. My idea is to have it like this. \ is off, | is bumper lights, the / is bumper and roll bar lights. I don't want to re-do the switch, I want to add one. Does anybody understand what I'm trying to do? This is the best I could explain it.

Sorry, I should have put this in the lighting section. :icon_twisted:

I'll move it for you :icon_thumby:

What you're proposing is not hard to do, but unless the switch you're using has two separate poles on it for you to wire up, you'll need to use a diode to keep the bumper lights relay energized when you switch the switch over for the rollbar lights. The diode would go between the switch contacts for each set of lights, and would conduct in a direction from the rollbar lights over to the bumper lights.

Hope that helps.

Thanks!

That sounds easy enough. So all I have to do is buy Clicky and wire it up?

I would think a stock switch like that should work fine (might not even need the diode).

Sweet. I'm going to buy that right now then. Thanks for your help :icon_thumby: And for moving my thread.

Ok I got the light switch today and this is what it looks like.

How is it going to work? Should I buy the plug the that goes into the back? Or what?

i'm gonna say get the plug... and figure out what is hot(has power) in what positions and wire it accordingly.

Wow that part is hard to find. The cheapest one I found is $60 so I'll just keep looking for a cheaper one. Thanks for your guys help.

I'd get some quick-connect terminals and just push those onto it's contacts for your connections.

Ya Ill try that. I hope it works that will save me some money.
