dont flame me for this guys, i need to know which wire to tap into on my light switch so that my tach backlight will turn on when i turn on the lights.... im not really sure which one to use and ive looked around for wiring diagrams and cant find anything.

i have a 91

thank you!

I wired it in to the one on my dimmer switch so it dims with the cluster but thats on a 00 it might not be as easy for you. but if you can find that wire it would work

The easiest place would be to tap into the illumination wire at the radio.

I used the brown wire on the parking light switch connector. I hooked up both my tach and my alarm system and it works absolutelty perfect. I've got a 95, btw.

I think I tapped the Light blue and Red wire for my tach's back light. Got the wires hooked up backwards at first, had the main power tapped there, tach only worked when the lights were on.:icon_rofl:

Brown on my truck is the parking lights which is what I used for my roof lights.

I'm having the same problem trying to find and get to wires. What color is the radio dimmer wire and wheres it located on my 87? Can I hookup my tach power to the radio power wire?
