okay, i am getting 2.5 inch lift blocks for my rear, and in the front im getting a set of coils that will lift it 2 inches, i priced new rancho 5000 shocks and they are:
59.99 each in front
41.99 each in the rear

my question is, will i have to do anything besides the simple switching the shocks and the coil springs?

might want to call ahead to the alignment shop a day or so in advance. your camber will be out of whack and need new bushings and most shops wont have the ones you need in stock. (well the shop i took mine to didnt anyway)

Not sure if it will apply to yours but when i done my lift. 2 inch spacers under the front coils and 2 inch blocks under the rear springs. You may want to get your alignment checked out before you do it just to make sure everything is ok in the front end. I didn't and after the lift and tires were on i went out to the alignment shop and we spent 6 hours trying to get it to align. Finally after 3 techs went over it we came to the conclusion that something was bent. As i said not sure if it would be in your case, but just some food for thought. From everything i have read i don't think you will have to do anything other then the shocks and springs for the lift your going for.

I'm not sure if it's the same style shock for the 2003's as what my 97 had but i was able to use front shocks off a 93 F150 for my fronts. I payed 32 each, just a thought to save you a bit of money. Here is the part number just incase it would work. They are Gabriel from Autozone. G63410 If it isn't useable on yours ignore it. I thought i would throw it in just incase. As i said i'm not familiar with what the 2003's had on the front end as far as shock style goes and what is compatible.

I'm gona lift my truck too!

Except I'm getting either an add-a-leaf or blocks in the back with whatever shocks that fit, and F150 coils up front with F150 shocks

I want a 2-3" inch lift, so same question,
will i have to do anything besides the simple switching the shocks and the coil springs?
Like lengthen brake lines, driveshafts, etc.

And tell me how it goes...post pics, Im curious how it will look for a lifted 2wd like mine will be
