lifting my ranger

Hi' im new to TRS. And i just bought a 89 ranger 4x4. and was thinking about a lift whats a good and cheap body lift and or suspension lift for my truck? And also what are some other things i can do to my truck to lift it as much as possible?

Welcome to TRS and cheap is not a word to be used when it comes to a lift. Save and you will be happier. My buddy was pumped he found a full 4" lift for $400 and has been doing nothing but replacing parts on it ever since where I beat the piss out of mine and the truck keeps asking for more

body lift about $100 or so. should replace the rubber mounts when you do that for another $50 or so. i'd do the body lift first so it will give you more room underneath when doing the other mods. won't change the ride or handling at all, so no need for a re-alignment yet. you may have to extend or re-route brake lines and other hoses, etc.

then you would have your choice of shackles and spring spacers as said above, or the more expensive suspension lifts that will give you another 4-6 inches of lift.
keep in mind that any suspension modification will require the need for an alignment, moving/extending the brake lines and similar items, probably a longer gas filler neck, etc. just don't forget to add in all the other things you'll be needing as you continue to lift your truck. if you search around here those lifts tend to run considerably more than $1000, just so you know.
