lifting my B2

So my B2 is stock height with about three inches cut off the fenders. Im gonna do a 6 inch lift and 3 inch wheel spacers I know I want a 12.5 wide tire but whats the biggest size you think I can go like 35s?

what are your plans? what axles do you have? what gears? its not as easy as lift it and put bigger tires on it.

what kit are you using? what wheels?

all of these questions are important to knowing exactly what you can run.

have you considered an sas instead? just a thought... depends on what your plans are.

use the search function. look at other b2 builds. look for 6 inch lifts and see what they say the recommended tire size is... CHECK OUT THE TECH LIBRARY.

How long you plan on driving a stock Ranger with 35's?? A few miles a day? What axles you got and motor?. You did not state any info. 33's will work and look just fine and save you money. I had 4 inches of lift on my 2 BII's and ran 33's and I put lots of miles and years without any issues on my BII's. Those 35's are really just gas wasters!!!! You don't want to use 3 inch wheel spacers, Bro........not a real good idea!!!

i had an 89 b2 with a 6 inch lift and 35 12.50s all on the stock running gear 2.9 5 speed it went GREAT in the woods only problem i had was it would break u-joints in the rear driveshaft i cured that by buying lift springs so there was no axle rap. i say go for it

i dont see why you would want the spacers. 35/12.50's on a 15x10 rim will stickout more than enugh. i hope you already have the D35 up front, or are planing to get one. other than that it should work great.

they did rub a little on the sway bar when i cut the wheels all the way but with your off set rims u should be OK mine were on the stock steel wheels that r damn near flat

on my b2 i'm working on a D35 and 8.8 swap 5.13 gearing. i'll be running 35x12.50 on 15x8 craiger soft 8's with about 4 inches of lift and a decent amount of fender trim.

at least that's the plan. i may end up with 15x10's...

3" wheel spacers would wreak havoc on your wheel bearings and alignment. You can seriously NOT do this. Proper wheel backspacing is the way to go, and try not to go with the biggest tire you can find.

No matter the motor, you will want to regear. You may get better highway mpg for a while, but your transmission will go if you rag on it frequently. Some transmissions, like the A4LD, are not heavy duty enough to deal with a daily beating.

Look around for tire fitment threads. I would suggest going with 33x12.50x15 tire, 4" lift, and cut your fenders. It will be just as functional, and your D28 joints and hubs will not crap out on you.

as promessed. this is a pic of my 88 B2 when it had 4" of lift and 35's. the front fenders are cut, and at that hight they need to be. the rears are cut because before i had the 4" lift i only had 2" and was still running 35's. i cant promiss that you will not need to cut the rears to fit 35's with the 4" lift, but i can tell you that you wont have to hack them to shit the way i did to do it.

as for the wheel spacers i agree that they will tear up your front end. i assume that the reason your thinking about that is your worryed about rubbing, or that you want to widen your stance. i can tell you i have run 2 diferent set ups with that amount of lift, and you wont rub, and you dont need spacers to widen the stance. this is how far your tires will stick out with 35x12.50's on there mounted on a 15x8 rim with a 3.75 back space.

and this is how far they will stick out with the same tires, but on a 15x10 rim with a 4" back space.
