Lifting my 97

haha, looks like you're running circles around those jeeps:thefinger:, very nice! :headbang:

YES! I'm glad to see it back on the road and wheeling again. You should feel pretty good, you put a LOT of work into it.

No...I'm sure the cats being that hot didn't help the rubber tail-pipe situation.

I'm glad to see that it's running around too.:icon_thumby: About time I say.

Thanks guys. Yeah I feel good to be driving it but it doesnt yet feel good.

It still needs to have the following fixed:

Death wobble
Cooling issue
PS pump bracket is cracking
Finish running exhaust out the back
CEL/O2 sensors
760s

The post build demons

The post build demons

That's what it seems to be. No build is complete without them.

Tim, you try those other 02's yet?

That cooling problem may be air trapped in the system..... or coolant bypass valve? Is that what it's called? IIRC, you've already changed out the thermostat. Just throwing ideas at you.

Yeah I'm a poser...... What of it?

Not too shabby. I'm just impressed you got a FRONT tire to lift. I don't think I've ever lifted a front while posing/flex testing. Off camber offroad situations is a different story.

That's some sexy flex ya got there....

Lifting front tires? Psssh, I've done that on the street! :thefinger:

:shok:

Definately not air in the system.

I am suspecting a worn coolant pump. Perhaps the impeller has been eaten up by cavitation.

That is a definately possible. The WP on my 2.3 was so ate up, there was literally no fins left on the impeller. What shape was the coolant you drained from it in? Rusty chunks/sludge are a good indication. :icon_thumby:

The water pump thats on there is the one that came on the motor so I have no idea about the condition of the coolant that was in it.

I do have the pump from my old engine. I will swap that on and see if it makes a difference.

I replaced the Drag link today. My old one was bent. It was a massive improvement. That little bit of bend made a whole lot of difference. The loose joint didnt help either. The deathwobble is much better now.

I suspect the DW is actually a tweaked axle shaft. My driver side rear tire isnt rotating evenly. I jacked it up and let it idle in gear while watching the wheels. It is definately not rotating evenly. The wheel, tire and drum are all wobbling. I will try my spare shaft and see if that helps.
