Confused and Intolerant
All the suspension on my truck is shot, any ideas on what I can do on a budget of $50?

I was thinking shackle extensions, and buying some shocks and leaf springs off the forums here. (if someone is generous enough to help).

I'd take used stuff too, as long as its ability will help it get that much closer to being road legal =P.

(needs a new frame, cab corners done, and a few things tinkered around the engine and exaust).

Define "shot" in relation to your truck not being road legal. In PA your springs can be as weak as you want as long at the shocks don't leak and the springs aren't broken (and actually, some of the leaves can be broken, just not the main leaf) and you are still legal.

As long as you are looking for height, get explorer leaves and 150 coils for a few more inches.

If you suspension is truly shot, I assume you mean the springs are sagging and the shocks aren't doing much damping anymore. If that's the case, getting shackle extensions isn't going to help unless your shackles are also shot and you're replacing them.

And not to rain on your parade, but $50 isn't a very realistic budget for replacing suspension components unless you only had to replace one of something, eg. the front coil springs could probably be picked up at a junkyard for under $50. You might be able to find a pair of new shocks from somewhere for that much, but probably not all four.

Go to the junkyard and get used explorer parts, also read up on exploder leaf spring swap and f150 spring conversion. This should help and keep you close to your budget. BUt realisticly staying in 50 range is gonna be hard, unless you have a dirt cheap JY

true, and a true junkyard (which is that dirt cheap one that has real scrap), does not exist anymore.... sadly

Was lookin for a new Bronco, Bronco II, or Ranger of any year for $600 tops, could be anywhere, as long as it can be dropped off if it is over 500 miles away, but we can pickup for anything 200 miles or so.
