Pulled the lifters and found 4 that were collapsed. Cam has no scares and none of the lifters were scared either. Anybody have any suggestions on the lifers, which are preferred and which one to stay away from. I have found one made by wellington and sealed power. Both are about 7 bucks each. Thanks Dirty

Ok, no opinion on manufacturer. How about prime or not with oil.

Lifters are lifters in a stock motor. Really. Espicially something that isnt revving to 6000rpm.

As far as priming them i wouldnt bother. The oil drains out of them after an overnight shutdown anyways. So its really no different.

I replacing all the lifters. Dont think they are going to drain over night without push rod pressure.

I always thought to put them in a bucket of oil and push the plunger. Never have actually got that far.

I meant that lifters inside an engine drain overnight. So besides maybe some assembly lube on the bottom for the cam i wouldnt worry.

They cant drain, Its a cup. unless you turn the lifter upside down the oil stays in the cup. When the push rod forces the inner part down the oil is forced out. When the push rod moves up it sucks oil from the lifter valley. all the push rods are out, so how is the oil going to drain out of the lifter. DIRTY

Why did you ask questions if you obviously already have all the answers?

Dustin, he asked a question about brand, not about the design of the system.
