i want to lift my truck to clear 31s, i figure stock springs are sagging badly and need to be replaced and I still want another 2 inches. i want to do this on the cheap too. should i buy new stock springs, and just washer lift as i originally planned? or should i buy lift springs? now f-150 coils are cheap in the junkyard, but is my truck going to ride like crap? i have a pretty decent commute so i still want a nice ride.

since you are thinking replace the stock springs.....go ahead and get the 2" lift ones....

i can't say about the F150's.....never rode in a Ranger that had em'....

x2 on the lift springs. then for the back i would either go with belltechs or if you do a lot of hauling or towing then i would say get an aad

the rear is fine, if it look dumb with the front lifted I'll do belltechs. i just looked at prices, $90 for stock springs from LMC and $380 for lift springs from 4wheelparts. is it really worth the extra money? anyone who has f150 springs, do they ride like $hit?

just for reference:
stock springs for my truck
Ranger Springs
lightest f150 springs
F150 Springs
i just did the math, doing stock springs + washers + bushings + shocks = almost the superlift kit without all the hassle
so either f150 springs or superlift.....

dammit just found rough country leveling kit for $130. any experience with these? will i need new shocks?

Everything I have read about F150 coils say they ride like garbage. I'd avoid them.

As for leveling/lifting coils, they shouldn't cost $380...check these out:

You're not going to want to go over 2 inches of lift in the front without getting new axle pivot brackets and a drop pitman arm to help with steering.

380 for leveling springs??? they are out of their minds. get the skyjacker springs for $140. they will give you about 2" and they ride very nice from what i hear. but belltechs are good. you just need to make sure your angles stay in check. and like i said before. if you do a lot of towing or hauling go with the add a leaf. you won't be riding around nose up if you have a lot of weight back there

ordered up a pair of Skyjacker coils this week locally, should be here by Thursday. so whats the general consensus? still alignable with factory bushings or no? and anything I will need to go with them?

Just leveling coils, you should still be fine. Anything above two inches is where it starts to get iffy.

Oh boy I just picked up my coils, $150 shipped! :yahoo: If you're looking for offroad parts in the southern NH area, KMS Welding and Offroad is a great shop. Their fab work is top notch. You might recognize their truck from this years TTC. they're good guys I highly recommend them.

ok so my trucks at the alignment shop and i got a call saying the factory 0* bushings have been replaced already and they need to change them out. he said some times a 1* bushing will change it 3*s??? WTF it sounds like bs to me. he quoted $250 to change the bushings and align, now its $175...
