Lift Questions

I seached around, here's the deal. My brother has a 90 STX ranger that is just a woods beater. We have a line on a 94 2wd that has a 4 or 6" lift on it. I read there are differences in the 2wd to 4wd but can't find exactly what they are. Can we MAKE it work? The '90 won't see street duty so what can we do to make the drop brackets bolt up. We've got a torch and a welder just looking to lift on the cheap, then put the 2wd back to stock-ish for daily driver duties. Thanks for the advice.

The lift brackets for the beam pivots are entirely different. Different shape, bolt hole locations.
