Finally got some money. Should I get a 4inch lift, new wheels, and some new 33's or should I get a 4.0 and do the 4.0 swap with my 2.9? just want some opinions on which should come first.

yeah, I like to play in the snow too. I live near the mountains to. my 2.9 runs good and strong but one of the cylinder spark plugs in going out every other month from being fouled out. I think its a bad piston ring but i dont really wanna deal with it. im thinking get the lift, then save up money and do the swap asap after.

without a running engine you can't go out and play either! :)

good luck

i vote for swap the motor and get some 31s, coil spacers, add-a-leaf and trim the fenders if needed. unless you care about your trucks appearance then just go with 30s and dont trim. believe me i have owned a 4 liter and 2 2.9s. the 4 liter makes all the diffrence in the world and will save you from having to re-gear in the future when you do get bigger tires and a lift. (re-gearing if you cant do it yourself is EXPENSIVE)

I dont care too much how it looks. not since that tree jumped out in front of me.

It's hard to say. If your engine may be on it's way out, I'd say do the engine swap while you have the money to do it (an engine swap with no money is VERY hard to do...). So I would have to go with the engine if I was in your position.

But, if your engine is very reliable and will continue to be, I would get the lift and tires.

Or, you could always do the engine swap and then get a cheap set of tires to go on your existing rims ($200 for a set of decent treaded 30-33's that'll get ya by for a while?) and trim the fenders if you have too much rubbing. and do a homemade leveing kit. I got washers from some place in Tacoma I think, and the 1-3/4", "leveling" kit only costs me 20 bucks (6 washers for each side and I think they were something like $3 a piece).
