Alright guys. I am set on getting a lift kit for my truck as I am in the need for shocks on my truck. I am set on getting the Rough Country lift kit and have a few questions about it. I wanna know what I am getting into.

1. Do I need extended brake lines for this particular kit? (the kit does not include them)
2. Will new eccentric cams be a good idea? (for camber)
3. How hard is is to install the kit? (or any lift kit for this particular vehicle in general)
4. What is involved in installing this kit? (grinding off bolts, welding etc.)
5. How well will the 4.0 handle 31's? (fuel economy and power wise)

All lift kits come with good directions. Can you read...?

You'll be taking out rivets, that's about as far as the PITA work goes. But still easy.
*Easy way to remove rivets, grind a cross(X) into the head w/ cutting wheel on a grinder, then shear the head off with a chisel on a air hammer, then drive it out with a punch on an air hammer.

Brake lines are probably a good idea so are camber bushings, as they might be needed in the end.

Just buy it and attack it, but read the directions well over before you start,
Good luck:icon_thumby:

Yep. I can read. :D Sounds similar to replacing leaf spring hangers. I've done that. Any recommendations for brake lines?

Dats ok. Nothing wrong with custom. But I still would like suggestions from anybody who has them.

as far as 4.0L and power with 31s..
I have a 4cyl on 31s..I didnt lose much in the fuel economy..maybe1-3mpg
im sure a 4.0 would have no trouble if your power lacks to much change gear rations in the rear

I hope that is true for the 4.0 as well.

I ran mine with 31"s for 2yrs with 3.27 gears. Off-road I had to use low everytime, but on the road, I did a lot of highway driving and The mileage stayed about the same19-21mpg. Around town was terrible, I was getting like 10-12mpg.

If you ran a 3.73 gear you would be well rounded.
I'd also recommended a locker cause your 2wd. Something cheap and easy like a Power-trax, or Aussie locker.

I'll look into a locker. Not too high on my priority list yet. But then again I won't be doing much offroading. How well will a limited slip work for me? And are 3.27 gears the stock ratio? Still looking for brake lines though.

I just found out I have code 92, an open 8.8 with 3.08 gears. Looks like an upgrade is in the works for me. Is there the posibility of getting higher gears that will allow me to keep gas mileage up? Something like 4.10 or 4.56? Like what it says here:

Would a one piece driveshaft be a good idea to prevent drivetrain vibration as well? I've been reading and found out there might be some drivetrain vibration in first gear.
