Hi all, first post.
My grandson wants to lift his Ranger(told him it's gonna be heavy but he still wants to do it) :)
Sorry had to do that.

I'm the mechanic in the family and end up doing these jobs.

The main question: 4" front and 2" rear lift is what he wants.
Do I need to get longer shocks?
I'm going to redo the front end, control arms, ball joints etc.
It will be easier to do it as I go and don't need to change to a longer shock later.

ANY!!! tips, trick suggestions??They will be appreciated.
Thanks, Jerry

On a 2wd it matters if it is an XL/XLT with coil springs or an Edge with torsion bars. Camburg and Fabtech make 2wd lifts although they are kinda pricey. Dropped spindles if you can find them separately and taller blocks in the rear would be a cheaper way to go. The front will need longer shocks depending on the lift kit. 2" in the rear you will be fine with the stock shocks but you could get longer ones if you are going to replace them anyway.
