I have a 1994 ford ranger i am looking to lift it with a 4 inch rough country lift kit how extensive is the labor to install it? Also would i be able to do it in my garage? What are the steps i need to do in order to do the lift?

i just installed a 4inch rc lift 2 months ago in my 97,took about a day and a half in my garage by myself .the one thing the kit doesnt come with your gonna need is some longer brake lines.pretty much every nut, bolt and rivet has to come out thats connecting the front suspesion to the truck.the bck was easy just new blocks and shocks tho.

thanks for the info. Is it a pain to extend the brake lines?

just on the wallet.........100-130 bucks in that range.

to get a ideal look in the tech libary, the skyjacker kit instructions will be very very close to what you getting in to.

removing the rivits is the biggest pain in the ....... if you ask me.

torch, grinder, air chisel, center punch, hammer to remove rivits

2/3 jaw puller for the pitman arm

angle finder to set camber/caster

adj ecentric bushings to adjust camber/caster,get it close to get to a shop

tubing wrench for the brakelines

correct lug nut type for new rims.

1/2 inch drill drill bits...

and common hand tools sockets, wrenches etc.

good time to repack wheel bearing also, inspect ball joints etc.

extened radius arms?....might want to look in to limit straps or J hooks to keep the coils in the buckets.

over all its not rocket science installing a kit on a ranger, first time around and assuming your a fair wrench, expect a weekend start to fininsh
