i'm lookin at lifting my ranger higher yet, any one running the bds 6 inch suspension lift? also looking at a set of cragar soft 8 rims with pro comp xterra 33 11.5 15's? any comments on the idea?

dont want to go with to terribly big a tire till the point i have to look at re gearing it just to be able to keep them puppies turning

I don't want to start a sh*t storm, but 11.5 are plenty big for almost anything. For offroading that isnt mudboggin or sand, a narrow tire can actually give better traction offroad. There is a whole science behind it that i barely grasp. It's something worth looking into. As for the lift, not a clue! Good hunting

I have heard from some guys that even in mud they prefer a little bit of a thinner tire? said something about they dig down and bite harder and your motor will have a much easier time keeping them puppies spinning apposed to a 12 or 13.5 wide, as far as the truth behind it i am yet to find out

The motor stress is related to Diameter not width although width contributes by making the tire heavier. You can reduce stress with a smaller tire or taller gearing.

Not to mention I have yet to see an 33x11.5 you can go 10.5

first i heard of the tire aswell, but the shop out here tells me they can order me a set?

Get some LTB 34x9.50x15 tires for playing in the mud! lol

Or some 33x14.50x15 Boggers, lol.

Seriously though, for a 6" lift on your truck, 33's are going to look small. I have a set of 33's on my choptop with around 7" of lift and they look small, soon as I can get another two 35's and some rims for 'em, I'm goin to 35's.

i'm wondering how horribly under powered my truck would feel like 35's though

i was at first lookin at only to lift it 4 inches, but for 60 bucks more i can go up to a six? so i was thinking h*ll why not

can i see some pics of your unit with the 33's on there, maybe convince myself to just put 35's and re gear it?

With 35's it would be quite unbearible I would imagine. I would stick with a 4" lift if you haven't got/ordered the 6" and get some 33's and leave it there.
He's got the 4.0L so it kinda depends on what gears are in his axles. If he's lucky enough to have 4.10 gears, then he'd be alright on 35's. I have 4.10s in my choptop with old bias ply 33's and a 2.9L with no problems.
