My 5 lb slide hammer and my new angle grinder have saved me a lot of hassle working on my truck and I was wonder what are some other life saving tools you guys have? Your standard set of ratchets, sockets, and wrenches don't count, everybody has those.

I'm not sure if this falls under the category of standard stuff, but my breaker bar is probably my favorite tool.

A cold six pack of my favorite beer. Makes any job possible.

well it wasn't me but my buddy used to have a baseball bat in his car at all times for self defense purposes and when his car wouldnt start he would beat the valve cover a couple times on his 4 cylinder mazda protege and it would start right up....good ole american louisville slugger..

Defib paddles. CLEAR!

OK this is kinda in your same ball park... have you ever had to place a bolt/nut into/onto threads in very tight places? and to top it off you can't get your fingers placed proper to get the job done for the bolt/nut slips and slides and falls? ARRRGH

I stumbled across these tiny magnetic inserts that fit into your socket. AND let me say these things have got me out of more than one tight time consuming spot.... they worked so well that I got our heavy duty mechanics at work a couple sets of these things and they love them.

http://www.brmagneticsockets.com/ these are the same concept, not exact as I have.

I like having the pickle fork around, but having it hit both my dad and I (on seperate occasions) while changing my leaf springs kind of made me hate it a little bit:D

dremel with a diamond cutting disk. Don't use it very often but when I do it's because nothing else will fit into the available space.

i can't live without my short handled ball pin hammer gets me out of all kinds of jams!
