I was lookin' at some leveling kits, and I think I might be interested in getting one. Should I bother paying for a Daystar Torsion Bar Key Leveling Kit 1.5"? Or would that be a waist of money?

jack up the front of your truck and put it on jack stands. place the jack stands on the frame so the front suspension has no weight on it. crawl under the truck and follow the torsion bars back the torsion keys. there will be a bolt sticking out of the key, tighten that bolt as far as you like. remove jack stands, check ride height after a short drive (to let the front suspension settle). adjust as you see fit.

i have no pics of this process as i own a ttb truck, but someone should be able to help you if you need pics.

buying "lift keys" is a waste of money. you will get no more lift from those keys than you would from your factory keys.

It's pretty easy...

All you need to do is jack the front up so the weight is off the suspension, then turn each torsion bar adjuster bolt (underneath the rear end of each bar) in about 1-2 turns, then lower the truck back down.

You may find each side is turned in a different amount from the factory, this is normal. Just make sure you turn each side the same # of turns when you go to crank them so the truck won't be leaning afterward.

Edit:
Too slow lol

However it's true the keys can lift your truck more than what you can get with your stock keys, Problem is it puts your suspension up so high you'll then start having problems with rapid balljoint and CV joint wear (not to mention an extremely harsh ride). Not worth it IMO.

Just make sure if you crank your torsion bars not to go any higher than 2 inches or you will start having issues if your 4wd. It took me a whopping 30 mins to do it to my Explorer I had in texas. Before you do make sure to take get a tape and measure the distence from the top of your tire to the outside lip of your wheel well to keep from going over 2 inches. Its not a hard thing to do and a quick easy way to level or lift (how ever you look at it) the front of your truck for nothing.

O also, make sure you get an allignment when your done or your tires are ganna wear funny.
