i have and 89 xcab ranger, 4x4 and i am trying to decide if i want to sell it and get and explorer or find a full size chevy. i know dont hate me. i just like the 78-94 chevy body style. so i want to know if you can redneck up an explorer.

yeah you can.. ex's are nice. look at kroussinoffroad's explorer build. or slo-vo's...
not sure i'd call theirs rednecked...b/c they are nice fully built rigs.

what do you mean by rednecked explorer? like 2x4 bumpers? insane body lifts and co-ops?
do it right... build it right.

Isn't there two body styles and a fairly major facelift in there?

At least.

The late 70s to (at least) mid 80s were the square boxy ones, like the 87 to 91 Ford full size. I have a coworker who drives a 92 1500 and it is the rounded grille like what Ford went to in 92.

I had a 93 3500 for 11 years.I liked the way it looked I like the interior controls plus I just like the way a Chevy goes down the highway tracks in a real solid way.Replaced it with a Chevy too.I don't think these trucks redneck that well though there IFS the front diff is kinda weak for big tires. If you could pony up for the 97 Vortech its a way better motor.I would think it would take a lot of money to make it four wheel with the Explorer though.

Not quite done yet.
