SIGH... ITS A SHAME TO BASTARDIZE A FORD LIKE THAT!

I understand doing it cheaper though if your gonna do it go get a 383..

Brand loyalty is for idiots.

I'm a Ford guy but my entire suspension is chevy. Along with a knuckle, caliper, rotor etc.

Take the best out of what's out there and use it.

exactly. i mean really whats the big deal about a chevy in a ford. i love a ford engine as much as the next guy. but im a chevy guy by heart becasue thats what i grew up around. yeah i was around the ford y-blocks (272, 292, and 312) the fe engines (332, 352, 390, 428) and around the mustang engines (260, 289, 302, 351, 352, 428, 429) all very potent engines, ive also been around alot of buick engines, my favorite being the old nailhead 401 and 425 engines. so no im not brand loyal. ill put anything, in everything. but the o.p is stating a chevy in a ford. i mean when you get right down to it. an engine is just a hunk of iron, with some cast and aluminum parts. the only difference is the person who named the engine. hell if if the american small block was built by ford. and chevy built the 289, and the 302, and the 351, who would you stand behing? hmmm gotcha think now dont i.

since we are chatting on bastardizing a truck then why the hell use 63" chevy springs since gm parts don't belong on a ford?

dam if people just think and order a 3/4 or a one ton truck to begain with then you wouldn't be braking or reparing such small trucks all the time..

anyone have pictures of there crossbreads, and thanks for the support. i guess if it is a big deal of crossbreading then i am up and will be glad to recieve a ford donor motor and trans. :thefinger:

thats not why we swap in the 63" chevy springs. the 63" chevy springs provide 3" of lift and give more flex than the ranger springs.

I'd skip most 350's and such and use a 5.3/6.0L, very easily tunable and respond very well to any form of forced induction.

What the hell is up with all the colored fonts?

You look like a bunch of bots in a yahoo chat room.

My take, run what ya want. As long as its american. Even though im a Ford guy i think Chryslers old 360's were the toughest running engine ever built.

Dustin

no one should have brand loyalty, just a personal preference to one or the other. for example my bro and i are trying to get a 78-79 bronco to turn into a trail/mud rig but are neighbor told us he would sell us his 73 blazer and a 454 for it for less than the bronco we are looking at. guess what we are getting?

Now that's a crossBREAD!
As for the crossBREEDS, a Chevy in a Ford is just fine. If someone had made me the right offer for a 350/350 or a 360/727 you can bet your last dollar, it would be under the hood of that 85 of mine.
