This isn't mine, just posting it for reference of what a flow series 40 sounds like with 2.5 tubing. I liked the start up and idle but didn't like the rev at all. Just my opinion.

I really liked the sound of that clip at idle it sounds really good

i think flowmaster 50 sounds alot better than a 40... 40 at high rpm's almost sounds ricey. my 50 sounds great even at high rpm.

yeah, thats not bad either. Not that it matters though but my cherrybomb tube only cost me 18 bucks lol, vs the flow

I had a flowmaster 40, I think. Anyhow, I was dissapointed especially when it rusted out so I have gone with a standard 4" round glasspack and like the sound better - not ricey just deep and throaty. After I burned of the oily covering on the drive home, I shot on a coat of high temp flat black paint. So far so good.

My exhaust setup is after the cat is 2.25 inch pipe, then y-piped into duals out the back with 3 inch resonator tips, no muffler, no cab noise, I like it (and btw i bought the exhaust, from the y-pipe back from the junkyard for 40 bucks

Okay I still see we have the cat on most of your guys trucks . My thoughts and question is .What if the cat goes south like mine .Do I really need to replace it on my 97 their is no o2 after the cat . And the darn thing has a hair line crack down it . Its one section from the manafold to the cat .
Thanks guys . Im ready to cut it off and put a straight pip in .

Yea you probably should, just for inspection/emission's sake, and to save yourself from the "it's illegal" replys. I have an aftermarket cat on mine, and straight piped into duals AFTER the cat

I don't think you can beat the sound of a 2.3 at high rpm through a glasspack.

It sounds like a tractor at low r's though.
