LED off road lights

Idk. I was amazed at the .223 test... They went off and came back on but I can't figure out why they would do that.

Also I believe simonsays rolled his race truck onto his and they had nothing more than a slight crack in the lens.

The shock from the bullet probably caused the LED driver (power supply) circuit to skip a beat for a sec (restarting it or something). It wasn't until the circuit itself took a direct hit that it went out for good.

Odd way of demonstrating their durability though... Clearly they were succumbing to being drilled through, squashed in an umpteen-ton press, shot at, cut with a torch, etc.... The dragging behind the truck and freezing it in ice are about the only parts that seemed to make much sense for showing how durable a light is

They destroyed and damaged at least $5000 worth of LED lights....maybe they were the initial run lol?

I highly suspect they were rejects due to a manufacturing flaw (though I'm sure there are plenty out there who wouldn't have minded buying some blems).

The big thing was that they were still working. All of the bars were still putting out light to some degree. Maybe not all of the LEDs, but each one had at least half of them still lit.

Also Simonsays said on another forum that he ran over a D2 with the raptor when it came off in Mexico, and stuck it back on and was still fine.

I guess I must've been over-analyzing it then.

The circuits inside those lights are all made in sections, so damage to one part of the housing or circuit wouldn't necessarily affect other parts of it. All I kept seeing was the parts being damaged kept going dark

Being run over is a pretty good real-world test though.

rigids are designed so that if one or 2 leds gets damaged, they're the only ones that go out. that's about all i know, and i never want to get to the point that mine is run over, hit with a bat, or shot.
