LED off road lights


i picked this bad boy up today. 30" Rigid Industries bar, complete with wiring and a switch. used, but......... WORTH IT. gonna talk to my boss tomorrow to see if we can scoot my truck in the back long enough to weld tabs on to mount it. if you guys know what these lights go for, and heard what i paid, i think you'd kick me in the gonads

Remeber those LEDs I was going to sell? They actually worked out really good! Dont know what you payed for that one but I am going to be selling the 7" lights for around $120.00, 14" lights for around $220.00 20" lights for $350 ish, and the 40" lights for about $550.00 ish. I still feel guilty for selling them for that much though compared to what I pay for them haha!

I am looking for a 40-42" let me know if you have any more great deals, Might take a couple of weeks but i am interested.

hey what kind of bimmer is that in the corner? i cant tell if its an e30 or same year 5-series. looks too long to long too be a 3 series, "but i HAVE been wrong be-FO!"
 
Can't believe the light output of the Rigid D2s. got one more pair to put on but these are amazing:

easily brighter than my HID headlights(that are in projectors for you HID haters :thefinger: )
 
I've looked at LED lights myself (those D2s literally are amazing!). What keeps me back though is I can't stand the bluish-white color of the high-CCT LEDs everyone seems to use, I need something with a warmer color (I keep wondering how easy it would be to swap the LEDs in a D2... I do have some experience with SMDs :icon_confused: ).

All of Rigids lights are available in Amber. I believe the issue is the warmer colors don't put out quiteas much light. The other option is Rigid's optical grade transparent lenses.

This is very true, higher CCT LEDs (most seem to be around 6000K) are very often rated about 5-10% higher lumens than lower-CCT LEDs (such as those at 4000K). Problem is, the human eye doesn't respond to light with a 6000K CCT as well as it does light in the low-4000K range (especially when it's reflecting from long distances). I've been told 6000K is supposed to be like sunlight, however 6000K has a very distinct bluish tint (4200K looks much more like sunlight to my eye, and is what I would want in an offroad light. Just for reference, halogen incandescent lights are usually around 3300-3500K).

The other thing is, lower CCT LEDs render colors much better than higher CCT ones.

which in why in my HIDs for my hella's i ordered the 4500k kit... whitest they offer. the 6000k has the tint like spoken about above... speaking of my HIDs; where is that order? its not here yet....

I agree. There is a reason I never changed my fog lamps to HID or LED, I didn't need any more light, I just need the warmer color to offset the HID aux lights and headlights I had. I am thinking about getting the colored lenses for my LEDs to give a warmer light when I need it.


One of the biggest advantages to LEDs over HIDs(to me anyways) is the multiple light sources. HIDs cast some seriously gnarly shadows, and the multiple sources(and therefore shadows) of the LEDs soften that effect a lot.
 
I really like my Rigid Industries 10" LED bar I got back in August. Makes my two Hella 700FF's look like a joke. It was pricey, but I like it way better, plus they are very durable (so I hear, and the construction of it looks to be reasonably bomb proof). Now I need to buy a clear lens to ward off rocks, and an amber lens for when the fog rolls in.

I want to get a pair of D2's to even out the flood pattern. The D2's are ridiculous for how small they are! Absolutely amazing tech.

I cringed every part of the way.

But then again all the sound effects and slow mo was freaking awesome.

My favorite was the submerging and ice test.

They destroyed and damaged at least $5000 worth of LED lights....maybe they were the initial run lol?
