Crap like this really pisses me off. When are American people going to stand up and say enough is enough?
ya know what really irritates me? the fact politicians ALWAYS look to raise taxes for this or that. When was the last time you heard one of these crooks say, we can trim the fat from the budget, we don't need to build a bridge to nowhere, we don't need a state poet, we won't reward single mothers on welfare with more assisstance when they have 2,3, and 4 more babies. no more section 8 either. If you can't afford the rent, you have no right to live in a certain house. Does anyone here even know what our governments primary purpose is? It's to protect our freedom. Not have us dependent on social programs overseen by the state. Fuckin-A. Sometimes i think the ignorance of our populace was engineered by those in power to keep us stupid and apathetic.
For the first quarter of 2008, the average state gasoline tax is 28.6 cents per US gallon, plus 18.4 cents per US gallon federal tax making the total 47 cents per US gallon. Multiply that by the average number of gallons of gas used in the US yearly and you'll soon find out who the real crooks are. Adding insult to injury, our gov't wants to put a "windfall profits" tax on big oil. Windfall profits? Exxon/mobil goes out and finds the oil, sets up an oil rig to drill in the ground, sometimes 1000's of ft deep, refine it, then deliver it to us at a cost of $1.50 per gallon. All the gov't does is sit back and collect its revenue. Now, tell me who really had windfall profits?
Exxon did not pay anything in taxes because there is no such person. Their shareholders and customers paid the tax. And, these are the same people who would pay a “windfall” profits tax. Our government officials are slick by popularly proposing the taxing of the demonic Exxon and his “friends.”
The politicians are actually contemplating pilfering your money by putting their hands into your pocket to get that tax money. They then think they can give you back $1000 and call it OK. They want two things: 1) Your money, and 2) our vote. Don’t give them either one.
Moore said commission members were initially concerned that using technology to track driving might violate drivers' privacy, but they've been assured that such a system could be designed to prevent vehicles from being "tracked in some big brotherish way." "
