Well i have started the process of replacing the front leaf brackets on my truck, i got the bed unbolted, wires disconnected, and fuel tank filler tube unbolted. Now i am waiting for my cousin to help me take the bed off and drop the tank. I have taken many pics during the process and plan on posting a "How To" in the tech library. Also waiting on the grinder i ordered to grind off the rivets that hold the stock brackets on, UPS will be dropping it off any time now.
I tell ya what those bed bolts can be a pain in the A$$, i got 5 of the 6 out with a T55 torx socket but when i went to take the sixth one out i totally screwed up the socket. So i had to make a run to the auto parts store and pic up another one, along with borrowing my step dad's air compressor and impact gun. I still had to manually use the ratchet and NEW socket to brake loose the torx bolt then put the gun to her.
I had a plastic bed liner in the bed which i took out and noticed a couple rust spots back toward the cab end of the bed so i am going to clean those up and get a roll on bed liner kit and coat the hell out of the bed. Wal~Mart has a decent kit its made by Plastic-Kote, you get a Gallon of liner with the course grains in it, a roller, brush, paint pan, and scuffing pad for $45.00+tax which i think is an excellent deal. My cousin just bought a kit last week and we totally gutted the tub of his Jeep Wrangler and applied it, it was pretty easy and looks great.
