Learn from my mistake

That sucks!I have trans dapt at the moment but I replaced all hardware to -an fittings and braided hose because I read somewhere that the factory fittings and or hose leaked.have u tried a different oil filter brand?I had that problem on my mustang.i used fram filter on it and I couldn't get it to stop leaking around filter seal as well.i switched it to a motorcraft problem solved.it might not of been housings just how filter was made itself.i think trans dapt recommends ph8a if I recall right.i might go to motorcraft right away since your having issues.good stuff.

I saw a relocation kit with the adapter bolted to the engine in the center instead of spun on like an oil filter but I don't remember the brand. The one I bought screws on and it's going to make it tough when I take the engine back out.

Which one do u have?u put relocators after engine was in not before?

I'll have to look into the Explorer oil filter mount. I don't know what it looks like. I always use a Motorcraft filter on everything. This is the second 302 I've had in this truck and I always put the block mount on before the motor goes in just to make it easier but it should have room to put it on afterwards.

That's wired!maybe try a different brand filter before u buy another whole new setup.cheaper that way.

Here is the stock explorer/mountaineer setup

Does that fit in the frame rails of a ranger?

That Explorer mount looks huge. I don't think that would fit.

Which mount did u end up using?

I use the Trans-Dapt block mounted part that came with their motor mount kit. The PermaCool filter mount is still leaking. Not enough to be super concerned but enough to make a mess.

Do have the part # for that kit by any chance.i got wrong kit so need the 90 degree mount that u have on your engine

You just plugged up the other 2 ports and it worked pretty good?

Yeah, it came with plugs for the two ports I didn't use. So far, knock on wood, I haven't had any issues with the block part leaking. You just have to get lucky where it tightens up at. I guess it could tighten where you couldn't get a line on any of the ports.
