leaking radiator wanted to try cold weld

Have any of you had experience in using cold weld on a radiator? The leak is on the seam of the tube that connects the upper radiator hose. The radiator is metal.

think something like JB weld would be pretty iffy on a radiator because of tempeture changes the metal is alway contracting and expanding to some degree,try some brazing rod and a propane torch,should work much better.

i tried jb on mine and the pressure blew it right out. far better off getting a new old one at the junk yard. got mine for 35

I had a leak in the same spot on mine
I tried the plastic jb-weld stuff, I tried some epoxy, and I tried to melt it shut with a woodburner, nothing worked
I ended up getting a new rad last week off ebay for 130 with shipping.
some people recomended bars leak, but I dont like using that stuff.

bars leak clogs your coolant passages in the block. you can take your radiator to any muffler shop and ask them to braise it back together for you for about $15. but done expect it to be permanent.

Thank you I am glad I didn't go with the cold weld stuff now. I will get a new radiator. Found some on Ebay for 80 dollars that's with shipping.

wow, great price
but he has the 2.3 - that's only a 1-core rad

and he can't braze it - it's cracked on the plastic part
