I have a 2001 XLT 2.5L with about 234k miles. I notice small drips coming out of this area by the upper hose, but it's not leaking from the hose or connection itself. The hose is pretty new actually. I noticed after awhile my overflow reservoir was empty at cold start in the morning.

Do I likely need a new radiator?

I would say yes. If you can even find a shop that would just replace the tanks, success is limited in fixing the problem. Buying a new radiator is often the better long term choice.

$130 shipped on Amazon for a new radiator, I know, I have one showing up tomorrow for my '97... pretty sure it's the same radiator
