Team,

I have not posted in so long, I had to re-register! Glad to be back.

Does the 2.9 have a gasket or O-ring around the distributor? Looks like the engine is leaking from the back and the valve cover gaskets are new and just fine.

Thanks in advance,

Justin

I agree with Hahnsb2, ive had some issues with the manifold gasket too. The bad part about it is that from then point, its central, and depending on which way the leak runs to, could make you think its valve covers, or the oil filter mount.

could it give the appearance of a rear main seal leak? as in dripping from the transmission inspection cover?

Agreed with others possiblities.

But Yes... there is a O-ring on the base of the ditributor that goes into the block.

be sure to get the new o-ring plenty of lube on it before you put it in. if not, you will end up having the same problem.
