Not sure if this belongs in this forum or not, Im sure somone will move it if needs to.

Anyway, Ive got a 96 Ranger XLT extended cab and I have a leak from the rear window and the front windshield. I have the headliner out so I can search for it, however the question I have is, that I remove the gasket around the front windshield, can I replace the gasket, or do I need a new one ?

Thanx !!

clear caulk if your friend guy. try caulking the 3rd brake light and teh entire top of teh rear window. i ahd that same problem. $2 worht of caulk and problem solved. prolly wouldnt hurt to do it on the front too

Rage4Order, did you get your leak fixed? I have the same problem. I have the rear window out getting ready to reseal it after I remove all the old gasket material. The front window I'm not so sure of. I'm not sure how to get it out to fix the leak. I don't really want to caulk around the window with it in place. That seems like a redneck fix (no insult intended to snoman). I would like to do it right but don't know how tough the job is going to be.

I don't know if you guys have full coverage on your trucks, but mine leaked and it always left a mark directly in my view. The insurance company told me that leak was just as bad having a crack right there, so they replaced it under my policy. I have a 100 dollar deductible, but the place I took it to waved 70 bucks and I got a new windshield for 30 bucks. Guaranteed not to leak for life and lifetime free rock chip repair too.
