Ok guys I have searched and searched with only finding universal ubolts. So my question is are the universal bolts ok to use on the ranger? I noticed that the factory bolts are kinda flat on the bottom where it wraps around the axle. Or do I have to find the factory style bolts? Asking cause I'm about to do the AAL and will be replacing the ubolts instead of reusing.

Thx for any and all help.

I got some made up by a welding shop when I did the leaf springs in my truck. The flat bottom ones are a little nicer in term of how they distribute the load on the axle but I didn't have an trouble at all on my truck when I used the round stock bolts.

So this may be a dumb question, but I'm not looking to do any off roading just want a Lil lift. Is it necessary to use new u bolts? I read it's a good idea something to do with them being torqued already.

You can reuse them if they are in good shape and come apart nicely. The workshop manual does not state anywhere that U bolts are to be discarded.

Thanks. Was curious about it cause I can't find the factory style in new just universal ones. Didn't want the u bolts to stop me form doing the lift since I found a deal I can't pass on.

Also will I need longer bolts up front for the spring plate so I can add the spacer that comes with the kit I'm looking at getting? It's a 3" lift from pro comp. It's a super deal I can't pass from a local guy that's never been out the box.

Also....there is nothing wrong with just the plain old round stock U bolts either.

Are you talking about a front leveling spacer kit?

It's a 3" pro comp lift that uses the spring spacers up front and aal in rear.

Bump for answer on longer coil spring plate bolts, if needed when adding 3" lift spacers and if so where to get.

I've had good luck getting cheap u bolts from rock auto. NAPA also has them by size, and of course the junkyard has them by the bucket.
