I owned/own an '87 and a '91 ranger stx/4x4. The stx highrider was made for [I think] two years - '87 and '88. It was the one with a factory 2" lift in the front. After that it's just badging. So I just realized I can't answer your question....anyone else?

The STX was available until at least 2007. The last generation STX had the really cool looking grille and pretty cool, although low-hanging bumper.

I was very specific and said ( 4x4 )and not 2 wheel drive.
Who said they weren't available in 4wd in 2007? I don't know if they were or not, just sayin.
The 89 STX 4WD still had the factory lift but was called Sport Rider. It may have been the best of the STX models. It came standard with 21 unique suspension components, limited slip rear axle and heavy duty gas pressurized shocks. I don't know if the earlier STX models had the same features as standard.
1990 was the beginning of the primarily decal package with a few other upgrades. Each year after that seemed to offer less upgrades. I don't know the exact last year of the STX 4WD but I am guessing around 96 but could be a little later. I doubt it went past 98.
Fine. After some more digging, the last year of the STX was 2000, until it was reintroduced in 2005 as a 2wd only model., but can't say for sure. I wasn't able to find that out in my search. That should at least give you a place to start looking. You're welcome. Now I'm assuming they were still available in 4wd in 2000![]()
