Language pet peeves- list yours too

My annoyances are also related to craiglist. Camero, let's be honest, if you can't spell the name of your car go look at the friggin' badges. Same with people that call Grand Cherokees, Cherokees. That's like us calling a BroncoII an Explorer coupe.

I fixed my altinator, and then I changed my oil with Mobile 1.

Screw you guys I'm from Missippi! Lol. Jk guys. Yeah I usually notice stuff like this but it dont bother me.. Some people just dont know better..

While it may upset others, it does not bother me in the least.

I could care less if you use terrible grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Bear in mind, however, if you do make a post that makes my head hurt just looking at it, don't expect me to provide you with an answer to your problem.

This thread turned out WAY better than expected . Thanks to all and keep it coming, you folks are spot on! I must confess to "USED TO COULD" and "YESTERDAY NIGHT" :icon_rofl: I was born in Tennessee and went to LSU! And the one that runs my boss nuts is that I call answering machines "CODE-A-PHONES" because it was the first one I ever came in contact with and it was the top of the line at the time.

I got something, when a thread is "moved" is it moved or REmoved?

yeah, i know LSU isnt gonna teach proper grammar to it's students, everytime they play football on TV, there's 50 jackasses with signs that say "geaux tigers" lol........i'm an auburn grad btw, WAR EAGLE

that can be either. if you start a new thread about the mysterious mating habits of the northeastern humpback wildebeast in the "Parts For Sale" section, the mods will MOVE it to the "General Discussion" section.

if you were to start a new thread in any section with pictures of yourself mating with a northeastern humpback wildebeast, the mods would REMOVE the thread.

Where and when did "my bad" become acceptable.......?
I also agree with the "axe" opposed to "ask".....

Gonna throw this one in just because I'm watching BTTF. I know that phonetically it isn't wrong, but it's still annoying.

It's a "gigawatt" not a "jigawatt". Thank your Christopher Lloyd AKA Doc Brown.

The first pronunciation of gigawatt in my dictionary has it being pronounced "jiggawatt." "Gigawatt" is the alternate pronunciation. Both are correct and accepted by IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry).

The terms that have really gotten under my skin are "no brainer" followed closely by "yaddayaddayadda".

Word use peeves are; to / too and there / they're / their. I say "word use" because they normally don't spell them wrong, they don't know the proper use or don't bother to care.
