Not necessarily a "language issue" thing, but a two-sided coin regarding questions either asked or answered - either too much info or not enough, which elicits further questioning.
Simple yes/no questions do not necessarily need elaborate, drawn-out soliloquies to explain why the answer is either yes or no. If further questions are needed, they will be asked for clarification purposes.
Answers should be given to go with the question that has been asked, and a question in return is not really an "answer" to a question.
At times, "I don't know" is really an honest answer. Asking the same question several times, or several different ways is not going to change the fact that the answer is not known at the time.
This semi-related issue takes on many other variations, as I'm sure we've all experienced to some degree.
