Lame

It isnt my cup of tea, but it is a florida truck after all. And honestly, he has a lot of work into it from what I can tell by reading his description. And I mean he even shortened the rockwell 2.5's and put disks at all four corners.

Personally I would want to run coil overs or at least coils at the corners. And a super charged V10 aint no joke.

Hey it aint an RBV. But except for Bluepit's truck, aint none of our trucks going to go through the mud and sugar sand that truck will.

What's so lame about it? Just another giant Florida mud bogger. We see them more often than you'd think around here.

Here is why it's lame:

- CG is way to high to do any real wheelin. Driving through a level mud hole all day gets boring real quick.

- 10 inch lift blocks under the steering axle are not a good idea.

- Gearing is decent at best.

- Pinion brakes are MUCH better than 4-wheel discs

So I say it's lame. This guy probably spent his life savings on something that ended up being lame and no fun, and that's why he's selling it, for a huge overall loss I would guess. I mean, you can build a fun, capable RBV that you can drive to the trail safetly for what he spent just on heims.

I just didn't take the time to type it out:D

Lots of work, but lots of pointless work :icon_thumby:

Agreed

He has 4 link'ed the front, hopefully your good-2-go there.

Although they may run cleaner and be stronger, if you break an axle shaft, then what? On the flipside. I haven't heard of any broken rockwells.

unfortunatly breakin axleshafts with rockwells do happen more often then one might think, and i like full fendered trucks and all.....but it jsut dont do it for me lol

Then you're down to 3-wheel braking. (If you have lockers)

Once you get to 50" tires and higher, it can get pretty tough to brake at the wheels. Hell, I have to push pretty hard to stop my Explorer quickly with 35s and 4-wheel discs. Although I would hope his discs are a little beefier than mine.

how do you get in? 7ft at the door handle? i would only use it in one way, to park my mustang under in winter, so all the salt and snow would be absorbed buy the truck.

u climb on the tire, pull urself intot he bed, open the door and slide ur way in, or just carry a rope ladder in the truck at all times

The leaf springs have nothing to do with the locating the axle, 10" blocks are okay here, they are only there for a spring. This is very similar to the way some of the older Monster Trucks were set up.

anyone notice the clearance? doesn't seem that high in comparison to the height of the truck... but i guess if your going through swamps in florida you would want your body out of the water.

i'm surprised at how many vehicles you see like this, how many km (or miles i guess) would you get off swamper tires on a heavy duty truck? cant see it being far.

seems a bit excessive to me, like over compensating or somethin...

Whether swamping or mudding, clearance needs only be as much as the front diff, anything more than that is not really necessary.
