What are they exactlly? Are they just a rear version of ext radius arms? I see them on lifted heeps and toyotas and what not. And I am curious to what they are used for.

They are designed to limit wheel hop.

There are quite a few options for rear suspension upgrades like ladder bars or anti-wrap bars and such. It just depends what issue you are trying to get rid of. Wheel hop or axle wrap are pretty common. I suffer from axle wrap due to the Skyjacker rear springs, 35's and a doubler. I copied a "Sams Offroad Bar" and it solved my issues.

If you are seeing them on Jeeps and Toyotas most likely in the Jeeps its just a long link arm which is part of their 4/5 link rear suspension setup, not ladder bars. Google extreme duty 6" Rubicon Extpress Jeep Tj and you'll see what I mean.

They are usually used to limit wheel hop and keep axle wrap under control.

I'm not a big fan of them. Though I do realize that they must be used in many situations, proper leaf spring build up can eliminate most of the original problem of axle wrap. Like I said though sometimes you can't avoid it (35's, doubler, torquey diesel motor ext ect.)

I plan to run 33's and i get wheel hop with my stockers.

Oh okay and this may be alittle off topic what is the purpose of a 4 link set of and can you run them with leafs? Is it streetable?

4 link (I think its four link, maybe five including the track bar?) is the type of suspension its another type just like leafs are a type. No you cant run them at the same time, they are completely different.

Gotcha.and do you think a 4 link is okay to run on the street?

Actually you can. The Mopar drag racers in the late 60s and early 70s used to do this. So do some monster trucks, real monster trucks, not inbred, sister ****ing Florida mud trucks, but I digress. It is called a "Link Leaf".

4 link is fine on the street. Lots of cars and trucks run link suspensions.

A three or four link on the street is just fine. However, there is alot of work that goes into building one and there are no simple bolt on kits that I know of. Duff sells two different types of offroad bars that are meant to cure wheel hop. Take a look at thier stuff.

Will do man. I even thought about readin up on them and attempt to make a set? I don't think that they would be too hard to do.

Go ahead and make your own and post up some pics!

Just figure out what size metal you want to use... and then go up another size! I use 1/4" for just about everything! :icon_thumby:
